Summer Rain
On the 3rd of July, I talked with Don, the guy that farms Mom's place. He was happy with his crops so far, but was hoping for some rain. So far, things were going well, but his corn was about ready to tassel, a good rain would be the ticket to a really god crop. Fast forward a couple of days, I talked with Don again. He got a 2 inch rain on Wed., good news for the corn crop.
Unfortunately, the rain didn't stop. There were reports of about 6 inches in some parts of the area. As you will see in the pictures, this turned out to be devistating for some farmers, I think Don's corn will be good, the worst of the rain seemed to be north of Mom's place, even though they got quite a bit. You can see where the water came out of the creek, and all of the creeks still had a lot of water in them.
It will be interesting to see how things come out this fall at harvest time.

Storm on the Farm
An unobstructive view of a potential thunderstorm is just one of the perks of being at the farm. These clouds never developed into anything, but they were beautiful none the less.
