Banner Marsh

There is a misconception that Illinois is nothing but crooked politicians, corn and soybeans. Get in your car with the family, and hit the road on the weekend. You will be surprised at what you find. This image was taken at Banner Marsh, which is located off of US24 south of Peoria, near the little town of Banner. It is adjacent to the Illinois River and at one time it was a surface mining area. Amazing what they can do with used up industrial areas. This area is a great place for fishing, canoeing and wildlife observing. I highly recommend a visit.
