City of Port Clinton
City of Portland prepping for a scenic flight over Springfield Illinois. This antique airplane was sponsored by the local chapter of the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association)
The big radial engines on this antique bird are powerful, and they have a wonderful sound as the plane passes overhead. When people say "the good ole days", this is the stuff that they are referring to
Looking at the skin of this aircraft, I am reminded of the old tin roofs that you see on farm buildings. That does not diminish the beautiful of this airplane in any way. This visit by the Ford Tri-Motor was sponsored by the local EAA chapter
Taxi Time
The City of Port Clinton begins it's taxi out to runway 31 for a scenic flight over Springfield Illinois and Abraham Lincoln Capitol Airport. What a thrill those passengers must have had. Sponsored by the local chapter of the EAA
Born to Fly
You can almost hear this bird say "Let me go, I want to FLY". Won't be long she will be in the air, serving up a piece of history to some lucky passengers.
TAT
One step closes to the air. Those big radial engines are singing loud and clear.
